Peanut Butter and Jelly Waffle
Who doesn't love a peanut butter and jelly sandwich? It's a "must have" staple in our house. It's quick and easy. It's salty and sweet. It's simple and delicious. So why not make a waffle in its honor? You get the same great taste, except you get an added warm crispy texture. Here is a delightful recipe that will definitely fulfill any cravings that you might have for peanut butter and jelly. Enjoy!
Ingredients:
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 3-1/2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1-1/2 cups milk
- 2 large eggs, separated
- 1/4 cup creamy peanut butter
- 1/4 cup butter, melted
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- Desired flavor jelly
Directions:
Preheat your waffle iron. Combine flour, sugar, cinnamon, and baking powder. In a separate bowl, lightly beat egg yolks and add the melted butter and peanut butter, milk, vanilla extract. Mix well. Stir the wet ingredients until combinedand gently mix into dry ingredients. Finally, beat the egg whites until still peaks are formed and fold into the batter. Follow the manufacturers directions of your waffle iron. Add desired flavor jelly. Makes 6-7 waffles.
