Sweet Cinnamon Waffle
This waffle brings memories of one of my favorite cereals...Cinnamon Toast Crunch. The one difference is that I know EXACTLY what is in it and of course...its a waffle. It has a subtle cinnamon flavor and a kick of sweetness that really rivals the taste of this well-known cereal. It can be enjoyed simply by itself, but you can always doctor it up with your favorite toppings. Enjoy!
Ingredients:
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 3/4 cup sugar
- 3-1/2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1 tablespoon cinnamon
- 2 large eggs, separated
- 1-1/2 cups milk
- 1/2 cup butter, melted
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- Desired toppings
Directions:
Preheat your waffle iron. Combine flour, sugar, cinnamon, and baking powder. In a separate bowl, lightly beat egg yolks and add the melted butter, milk, and vanilla extract. Mix well. Stir the wet ingredients until combined and gently mix into dry ingredients. Finally, beat the egg whites until still peaks are formed and fold into the batter.
